The UK government has decided to impose sanctions on individuals associated with the Wagner private military company. These new sanctions were announced by the Foreign Office on Thursday, UNN reports.
"On July 20, 2023, 7 new individuals were added to the list of sanctioned persons in relation to the Central African Republic, 5 new individuals were added to the list of sanctioned persons in relation to Sudan, and 1 new individual was added to the list of sanctioned persons in relation to Mali," the British Foreign Office said in a statement.
"The UK government has imposed sanctions on individuals associated with the private military company Wagner," the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said in his Telegram.
According to the British media, the UK has added to the list of sanctioned individuals and groups associated with the Russian private military company Wagner, which operate in the Central African Republic and Mali. The list also includes Vitaly Perfiliev, the head of the Wagner Group in the Central African Republic, who was subject to an asset freeze and travel ban.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has reportedly summoned the British Charge d'Affaires to Moscow.
