Military assistance from Estonia: What is included in the new package for Ukraine?

Earlier this week, on December 14, the Estonian government made an important decision to provide a large package of military assistance to Ukraine totaling 80 million euros. This historic event was announced by the country's Ministry of Defense.

Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur revealed that the new aid package will include a significant number of Javelin anti-tank missiles, machine guns, small arms ammunition, boats, ground vehicles, and equipment for divers. He also noted that the specific content of the aid package was not previously disclosed for security reasons.

Pevkur added that the aid package was designed to provide maximum support to Ukraine without compromising Estonia's own defense capabilities. He noted that the Russian regime is counting on the world to withdraw its support for Ukraine, and to counter this, a strategic message must be sent: support for Ukraine will continue until it wins the war.

The Estonian government notes that special calculations have determined that for Ukraine to win and Russia to lose, Kyiv's allies need to provide aid at the level of 0.25% of their GDP per year. This is a key step in sending a strategic signal of support to Ukraine and strengthening the security of the region and the world.
