Swedish Government decides to transfer eight self-propelled artillery systems Archer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Government of Sweden has decided to transfer eight Archer self-propelled artillery systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is an important step in supporting Ukraine in its efforts to ensure security and defense against Russian aggression.

Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson announced the decision, emphasizing the importance of Archer as an effective weapon for the Ukrainian military. These self-propelled artillery systems are highly accurate and capable of mobile combat operations.

"The Archer system can be compared to a sniper rifle because it is capable of delivering extremely precise strikes against enemy artillery," said Johnson.

Comparing the Archer to the U.S. HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, he pointed out that the Archer has a shorter range, but emphasized that it can effectively complement and support their functions.

Archer is a Swedish 155-mm self-propelled artillery system developed by BAE Systems Bofors. The system is based on the 155mm FH 77B gun with 55 caliber barrel, and its loading mechanism allows it to fire 6 rounds in 30 seconds.

The decision to provide Archer to Ukraine demonstrates the growing support of European countries in supporting Ukraine in its fight against aggression and protection of national security. Given the danger of Russian aggression, such arms deliveries are becoming extremely important for Ukraine.
