Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, in his speech at the Crimean Platform Summit, expressed the opinion that the most likely way to return the occupied Crimea to Ukraine is through the military.
Danilov stated: "We will liberate it (Crimea - ed.). Most likely, this will happen by military means, if the aggressor country does not realize that it needs to leave our territory by this time. We have no other option."
According to the official, any other actions regarding Crimea will only lead to the consolidation of the occupation and the transfer of the conflict to descendants. Russia, which has occupied Crimea, shows no intention of leaving the peninsula, and only by its withdrawal from Crimea will Ukraine be able to achieve certain security guarantees for a certain period of time.
"Will it be difficult? Yes, it will be difficult. Will we be persuaded under the carpet? Most likely, we will be sent various messages," the NSDC Secretary noted.
Danilov also emphasized that without proper control over its own military fleet in Crimea, Ukraine will constantly remain in a difficult situation in terms of national security.
Currently, Crimea remains one of the biggest problems of Ukraine's territorial integrity, and the issue of its return remains an important task for Ukraine and the international community.
