Ukraine and Switzerland have signed a landmark agreement that will double funding for infrastructure restoration and support for affected regions. Under the new agreement, the amount of financial assistance will increase to 100 million Swiss francs, equivalent to 116.7 million US dollars.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. This increase in support is part of efforts to restore infrastructure after the destruction caused by the war and to assist those regions most affected by the conflict.

The agreement was signed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and the Swiss Ambassador to Ukraine, Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Ukraine Jacques Gerber. This document is an addition to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of reconstruction.

Switzerland, as before, remains an important partner for Ukraine in terms of reconstruction, in particular in the areas of infrastructure, energy and humanitarian support. The increased funding will make it possible to implement a number of important projects that will help restore economic activity in the affected areas.

Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko noted that the signed agreement is an important step for Ukraine in its efforts to restore the economy and infrastructure after the war. She also emphasized that this financial support will improve the quality of life in the affected regions and create new opportunities for development.

In turn, the Swiss Ambassador to Ukraine Jacques Gerber stressed the importance of continuing to support Ukraine in this difficult period. He stressed that Switzerland will continue to actively cooperate with Ukraine in the reconstruction and support of economic growth.

Increasing funding for reconstruction projects is an important part of the international community's efforts to support Ukraine in the post-war period. As the country faces numerous challenges, such as rebuilding its destroyed infrastructure and stabilizing its economy, international partners like Switzerland play a key role in this process.
