  • Wellness fasting: how it affects health

    Опубликовано: 2024-12-16 15:28:10

Starvation, as a method of recovery, became known in antiquity, when people spent unloading days, refusing food for a few days a month. Using this method, our ancestors, as well as many animals, intuitively used starvation to restore the body. In today's world, where people don't move as much but consume much more food than they used to, this approach has gained popularity. Some argue that fasting is not only a way to cleanse the body, but also an effective alternative to fitness, especially for those who lead active but overloaded lives.

Before deciding to embark on such a wellness regimen, it is important to understand exactly how fasting affects the body. It trains the body like exercise. When a person does not consume food, his body begins to work under stress, which stimulates metabolism, improves the work of the urinary, endocrine and digestive systems. Such changes have a positive effect on the general state of health, accelerating cell regeneration and maintaining the body's tone.

However, it is worth remembering that fasting requires a certain approach. There are two main types of fasting: therapeutic and recreational. Therapeutic fasting is prescribed by specialists and includes a number of procedures. It is not recommended without a doctor's supervision, because it can be harmful to health, lead to serious heart or kidney problems. Health fasting, unlike medical fasting, is more gentle and suitable for those who want to cleanse the body without risk to health. It consists of short-term breaks in nutrition, usually for 1-2 days.

It is important to remember that before fasting it is necessary to prepare the body. It is recommended to cleanse the intestines with laxatives or enemas. On this day it is necessary to drink as much liquid as possible - preferably water without gas. Additional impact on the body can be obtained by taking a hot shower or bath, as well as steaming in the bath. This will help not only to remove toxins from the body, but also to relax, creating a feeling of lightness and purification.

After the hunger day is over, it is important not to return to the usual diet immediately. The body needs time to adapt, and the food should be light, not overloading the digestive system. A good option would be freshly squeezed juices from citrus fruits such as orange or grapefruit, which can be slightly diluted with water.

Before you start practicing fasting, it is extremely important to consult your doctor. This will help to avoid possible contraindications and choose a suitable scheme for recovery. Remember that health is a value to be cherished, and fasting should be part of a healthy lifestyle, not violence against your own body.
