Popularity of Chinese cars in Ukraine: Leaders among new and used models

In October 2024, Ukrainians purchased about 1.2 thousand cars manufactured in China. Demand for Chinese cars decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year, but the share of these cars in the Ukrainian market continues to remain significant. About it reports the Association "Ukravtoprom", providing a detailed analysis of trends in the sale of Chinese cars.

Among the total number of cars purchased, 979 units were new cars, which is 11% more than in October 2023. At that time, the number of cars used from China, on the contrary, decreased by 47% - only 228 units were sold. These data indicate a significant increase in interest in new Chinese models, while the popularity of used cars from China has declined somewhat.

In the segment of new cars of Chinese production, the market share was 17%, which is a significant indicator for Ukraine. On the market of used cars, the proportion of Chinese cars was only 1.4%, which indicates more limited demand in this category.

Most of the new Chinese cars purchased by Ukrainians belong to the class of electric vehicles - their share is 81%. This trend emphasizes the desire of Ukrainian drivers to switch to environmentally friendly transport, as well as the popularity of electrical technologies offered by Chinese brands.

Among the most popular new models of Chinese cars in the Ukrainian market are electric vehicles such as Honda M-NV with 188 units sold, Volkswagen ID.4-100 units, ZEEKR 001-94 units, BYD Song Plus-74 units and Audi Q4 E-Tron. 41 units. These models stand out for their functionality and innovation, which makes them attractive to Ukrainian buyers.

Among the used Chinese cars were ZEEKR 001 and Honda M-NV, each of which had 20 units sold. Other models that are also interested in Ukrainian drivers are Polestar 2 (17 units), Baic EC3 (15 units) and Volkswagen ID.4 (14 units). These data reflect the general trends of demand for Chinese cars in Ukraine, demonstrating their steady penetration into the Ukrainian market due to competitive prices and modern technologies.
