Types of breast surgery
Breast surgery includes many types of surgery known to plastic surgeons and routinely performed. These operations can be cosmetic, restorative or therapeutic. Cosmetic surgery, for example, is aimed at breast augmentation with implants. Recovery surgery is necessary to restore the shape of the breast after a mastectomy. Therapeutic surgery is required for excessively large breasts when it causes spinal problems.

Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation surgery using silicone implants is one of the most popular and well-developed techniques, giving virtually no complications. Modern models of implants are safe and reliable, and over time they develop connective tissue and become part of the breast. The operation is carried out under general anesthesia, through a small incision the surgeon forms a pocket under the front pectoral muscle, where the implant is placed. The incisions can be made in different places, but after surgery the scars remain invisible.

Breast reduction
Breast reduction surgery is difficult as breast tissue is delicate and easily traumatized. Tissue necrosis produces toxic products that can cause serious complications. The operation is performed for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes, especially if large breasts cause spinal problems. Before surgery, a gynecologist-endocrinologist is required to correct the hormonal background if the breast augmentation is caused by a disorder.

Breast lift
The breast lift is aimed at lifting the breast and fixing it in a new position, while the position of the nipple may change. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, excess skin is removed, breast tissue is redistributed, and the nipple and areola are moved to a new position. The postoperative period is similar to other types of breast surgery.
