    Опубликовано: 2024-07-01 09:30:38

During an official visit to Ukraine, the President of Slovenia, Natasha Pirc Musar, announced her government's decision to allocate an additional 5 million euros for humanitarian needs and the reconstruction of Ukraine. This step emphasizes Slovenia's desire to actively support the Ukrainian people in difficult times.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal confirmed this decision after a meeting with Pirts Musar. He expressed gratitude for the support, noting that these funds will be directed to humanitarian initiatives and recovery projects that were announced during the Recovery Conference in Berlin.

The President of Slovenia emphasized her country's desire to be an active participant in the process of rebuilding Ukraine. She noted that although Slovenia is a small country, its government is committed to providing significant support within its capabilities. "Slovenia is a small country, and we cannot provide as much military aid as big countries can. But still, we have given a lot and will give more," Natasha Pirc Musar emphasized.

The meeting also discussed the issue of continuing the European integration of Ukraine. Denys Shmyhal expressed hope for further support of Slovenia in this direction, and also emphasized the importance of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. He thanked Slovenia for supporting the European sanctions policy against the aggressor.

In addition, the comprehensive support of the Slovenian government for Ukrainian citizens, in particular children temporarily staying in Slovenia, was confirmed. During the meeting, a memorandum was signed between the governments of both countries, which will help protect the rights of Ukrainian children in Slovenia and ensure their safe return home in the future.

Slovenia also continues its participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure. The Center for International Cooperation and Development of Slovenia (CMSR) accepts projects for the restoration of infrastructure and is ready to allocate grant funds in the amount of 5 million euros, covering up to 50% of the project cost. This initiative emphasizes Slovenia's readiness to invest in the future of Ukraine and its citizens.
