  • Ukraine actively fights against infringement of intellectual property rights

    Опубликовано: 2024-03-27 14:00:52

Ukraine has joined an initiative to combat intellectual property rights infringement and is launching a register of websites that violate copyright and other intellectual property rights. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture.

In early March, the Ministry of Economy adopted an order approving the procedure for the formation and maintenance of a national list of websites that raise concerns about intellectual property rights. This was made possible through cooperation with the International Organization for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (WIPO).

Now Ukrainian copyright holders have the opportunity to apply to the Intellectual Property Office for inclusion of a certain website in the national list of infringers. This will become an additional tool in the fight against piracy and illegal use of intellectual property in Ukraine.

WIPO Alert is a platform that brings together member countries to exchange information on potential violations of intellectual property rights at the international level. Ukraine became the fifteenth country to join this initiative.

The launch of the register of websites that infringe intellectual property rights is an important step towards creating a more secure digital space in Ukraine. This will not only help protect the rights of creators, but also develop the national economy and the country's innovation sector.
