Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to actively expand their foothold in the left-bank part of Kherson region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to actively expand their foothold in the left-bank part of Kherson region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in an official statement posted on its Facebook page on January 4.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Joint Forces Operation Center in the Kherson sector, the Defense Forces continue to actively defend their positions. Even with significant losses, the Ukrainian military is not giving in to the enemy, who is trying to withdraw them from their positions.

According to the General Staff, Russian troops conducted nine unsuccessful assault operations in this area over the past day. This demonstrates the courage and endurance of the Ukrainian military in difficult combat conditions.

According to the data received over the last day, 58 combat engagements took place in the conflict zone, during which the enemy forces used 7 missile and 58 air strikes, as well as fired 57 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

Unfortunately, the terrorist attacks of the Russian occupiers resulted in civilian casualties, as well as the destruction of residential buildings and damage to civilian and industrial infrastructure.

The towns and villages that have been hit by the Russian occupiers' air strikes include Zolochiv, Morokhovets, Pylyna, Kolodyazne, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Podoly, Ivanivka, Berestove (Kharkiv region), Stelmakhivka, and Novoyehorivka, Serebryanske Forestry (Luhansk Oblast), Terny, Spirne, Pivnichne, Oleksandropil, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane (Donetsk Oblast), Orikhiv, Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia Oblast), Chervonyi Mayak, Beryslav (Kherson Oblast).
