Kyivstar restores full range of services

On December 20, Kyivstar mobile operator successfully restored its services both in Ukraine and abroad. The announcement was made by the company's president, Oleksandr Komarov, during a telethon, noting that the last service to be restored was international roaming, which was completed on December 19.

"All Kyivstar services are available without any restrictions," Mr. Komarov emphasized.

According to him, the data on the outflow of subscribers in favor of other operators will be available in a few days, as the internal monitoring and analytics systems are still being restored.

As a reminder, on December 12, Kyivstar subscribers experienced a technical failure that resulted in a loss of communication and Internet access, and the company's website stopped functioning. Later it turned out that it was caused by hacker attacks. However, the company assured that the personal data of subscribers remained intact.

The Security Service of Ukraine has already launched a criminal investigation into the attack, considering various offenses ranging from interference with information systems to high treason. It should be noted that one of the versions of the attack's mastermind is Russian special services.

The incident had a number of consequences, including disruptions in the air raid warning system via cellular communications in some regions. The start of voice communications was announced on December 13, and mobile Internet was restored on December 15.
