President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the authorities are actively working to resume flights to and from Ukraine, noting that regular flights from Boryspil Airport are a distant prospect.

During the final press conference, Zelenskyy expressed his position on the issue of air accidents and noted that the authorities are considering the possibility of resuming civilian flights. The President was informed about the technical flight of a Boeing 777-300 from Boryspil airport and, responding to a question from a Polish correspondent, expressed optimism about the future.

Zelenskyy remarked that the opening of Boryspil Airport would be a symbolic act of victory for Ukraine, similar to the Black Sea. The president defined it as a serious operation that emphasizes the strength of Ukraine's air defense complex. According to him, it will demonstrate that Ukraine is winning in difficult times.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that the resumption of regular flights is not only a strategically important victory, but also a significant economic step for the country. The President emphasized that the government prioritizes this issue and knows what specific measures are needed to achieve this goal.

It is worth noting that the technical run of the Boeing 777-300 aircraft, which took place on December 19, 2023, was defined as a test phase of the "recovery policy". Boryspil Airport plans to continue such tests as part of its strategy to resume regular operations as soon as the risk assessment allows it.
