Air Force of Ukraine: Conditions for declaring an alarm due to MiG takeoff

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has established that an alert over the takeoff of Russian MiG-31K fighters will not be raised if there is accurate information that these aircraft do not pose a threat. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Asked about possible solutions to prevent MiG flights from paralyzing the entire Ukraine, Ihnat said that the Air Force will continue to report any threats from MiGs and pass this information to the State Emergency Service in Kyiv. The SES operational duty includes a warning system. It is noted that the country's authorities have instructed relevant ministries and agencies to develop solutions to respond to MiG-31K flights.

The spokesperson said that NATO countries seek to inform Ukraine as quickly and fully as possible about any incidents involving MiG-31K aircraft. It was also noted that Ukrainian intelligence provides some information. However, there is not always data on whether a missile is on board the MiG aircraft and what type of flight it is: a training or combat flight.

"If there is accurate information that the MiG-31K does not pose a threat, then, of course, the alert will not be announced," Ihnat said, emphasizing the importance of having accurate data to determine the degree of threat.

The Air Force continues to improve its information and communication systems to effectively respond to possible threats and ensure the security of the nation.

The decision to fly the MiG-31K remains under development, but transparency and accuracy of information are key aspects in addressing this issue. The Air Force continues to cooperate with partners and attract all necessary resources to effectively control the situation.
