  • Government allocates 665 million hryvnias for compensation for damaged housing: who will receive it and how much

The Ukrainian government has allocated additional funding of 665 million hryvnias from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression to support citizens whose homes were damaged as a result of the war. This was announced by the Ministry of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development.

The funds will be used to pay compensation under the state program eVidnovlenie, which provides financial support for both current and major repairs of housing. It is noted that the new funding will finance the restoration of 7,389 damaged residential premises across the country.

The program provides for two main levels of assistance. Category A covers minor damage, for which compensation of up to 200 thousand hryvnias is provided. Category B, on the other hand, concerns major repairs, and here the amount ranges from 200 to 350 thousand hryvnias for apartments, and from 200 to 500 thousand hryvnias for private houses.

According to the Ministry, the Cabinet of Ministers' decision is part of a broader plan to implement the "eRecovery" budget program for 2025, within which a total of 1 billion hryvnias has been allocated. Of this amount, 400 million hryvnias are allocated for current repairs, and another 600 million for capital works.

The goal of the program is not only to promptly respond to the consequences of Russian aggression, but also to create conditions for the stable return of citizens to a full-fledged life in their homes. The program also provides for a transparent electronic system for submitting applications and checking the eligibility of objects for compensation.

Thus, the new funding is an important step in the process of restoring damaged infrastructure and supporting Ukrainians affected by military actions. The government calls on citizens to become more actively involved in the program and submit applications through the "eRecovery" platform in order to return to safe housing as soon as possible.
