Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on more than 300 companies and individuals from Russia and other countries

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted the National Security and Defense Council's (NSDC) decision of November 23, which resulted in the imposition of economic sanctions against more than 300 companies and individuals from Russia and other countries.

Decrees No. 772 and No. 773, issued on November 23, regulate in detail the scope and duration of measures against a number of Russian energy companies. Among them: "Vologda Regional Power Company, Omskelectro, Rosseti Lenenergo, and Far Eastern Energy Management Company - Generation Grids.

Decree No. 773 also provides for the imposition of five-year sanctions against the Moscow Energy Directorate, Salekhardenergo, Loeskerelektricheskie Nets of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Volgogradoblelektro, Moscow Regional Power Grid Company, Rosseti Kuban, and others.

The list of sanctioned entities also includes the O.F. Zasyadko Mine of the so-called "DPR", as well as Soyuzenergoindustriya, Soyuzenergoproekt and others.

These decrees also provide for the imposition of ten-year sanctions against 87 individuals, including citizens of Ukraine and Russia.

Decree No. 772 details the sanctions against citizens of the Russian Federation, Cyprus, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and Belarus. The list also includes companies from the UAE, Russia, Uzbekistan, Cyprus, Turkey, China, and Malta. Ten-year sanctions have been imposed on them, which include blocking assets, restricting trade operations, and preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine.

The list of sanctions also includes the names of prominent individuals, such as former NSDC Secretary Volodymyr Sivkovych, former head of the Russian presidential administration Anatoly Chubais, Commander of the Air Defense and Missile Defense Forces and Deputy Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Andrey Demin, and top managers of the USM group of companies owned by Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.

The sanctions are designed to block financial resources and restrict financial transactions aimed at preserving Ukraine's economic security in the face of geopolitical tensions.
