Ukrposhta raises tariffs for newspaper and magazine subscriptions

Ukrposhta, the national postal operator, has announced changes to the tariffs for print subscriptions for 2024, which will come into effect on November 1. This initiative is marked as the first increase in tariffs for these services in the last two years.

According to the company's official announcement, the cost of subscription to periodicals to one address will be UAH 15.00 (excluding VAT). This is another attempt by Ukrposhta to increase the profitability of its services and avoid further losses.

Previously, changes in tariffs were based on the weight and volume of publications and the number of issues for the minimum subscription period. Now, customers only need to choose the type of media: national or local edition, and the subscription fee will be UAH 5.00 for national and UAH 4.00 for local editions for the delivery of one copy.

According to Ukrposhta, the changes in subscription prices are already in effect throughout Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk and Kherson regions.

The subscription period for national print media ends on December 20, while for local publications the deadline is December 26, 2023.

"Ukrposhta offers three ways to subscribe: online, at post offices, and through a postman.

This initiative means that postmen will now receive incentives to promote subscriptions, which in turn will help increase the popularity of this service among citizens. It will also allow for increased investment in the development and improvement of the quality of media delivery services for customers.

However, it is important to keep in mind that in some conflict-affected areas, newspaper and magazine delivery will only be resumed if it does not compromise the safety of Ukrposhta's customers and employees.

This initiative will ensure access to Ukrainian information security publications during the ongoing war.
