Expansion of the project: Women's compartments in Ukrzaliznytsia passenger trains to 4 more destinations

Ukrzaliznytsia's campaign to introduce women's compartments in passenger trains is being extended. Starting from November 15 this year, this initiative will be available on four more routes of the Ukrzaliznytsia network.

These directions include:

Train #17/18 "Kharkiv - Uzhhorod".
Train No. 29/30 "Kyiv - Uzhhorod".
Train #3/4 "Zaporizhzhia - Uzhhorod".
Train No. 26/236 "Odesa - Rakhiv".

This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia. It is noted that passengers will be able to buy tickets for women's compartments from October 27.

By analogy with the previous project, seats in these compartments will be allocated and marked in the official Ukrzaliznytsia application. Only women and children under 5 years old will have access to these compartments.

It is worth noting that the cost of tickets for traveling in women's compartments will remain at the same level as standard compartments in trains of the same class.

Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", said that the pilot project with women's compartments has already shown its effectiveness and relevance. Passengers actively use this service, and on average, such compartments are filled by 93%. In the first four months since its launch, 25 thousand tickets were sold. In this regard, the number of trains where this service will be available is expanding, and new destinations are being added to the project.

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia also added that the company is carefully studying the demand for women's compartments and analyzing passenger feedback. Based on these results, decisions are made on the further development and expansion of this initiative.
