Kyiv Metro has received 12 more units of rolling stock from Warsaw, and by the end of the month it is planned to transport 6 more cars. This was reported by the press service of Kyiv Metro.
According to the press service, in August, the capital's subway received another batch of Warsaw cars, a total of 12 units of rolling stock. Thus, the number of cars in the subway has increased. Another 6 units of rolling stock are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this month.
It is noted that the Warsaw Metro handed over 60 cars of the No. 81 series, which were decommissioned in the Warsaw subway, to the Kyiv Metro. The received rolling stock will be used primarily as a technical donor, and will also allow to form a reserve of spare parts for further repairs of existing trains of the capital's subway.
To date, Kyiv Metro has already received 30 cars out of the planned 60. The delivery of all 10 couplers is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Specialists of the Ukrainian company are now actively studying the previously received cars. Despite the fact that they are a common series of rolling stock, many discrepancies have been identified, as the operating conditions of trains in the Warsaw and Kyiv subways differ significantly.
