Budget deficit decreased to UAH 108 billion in July

According to the latest report, Ukraine's state budget deficit in July 2023 decreased to UAH 107.6 billion compared to UAH 135.1 billion in June. This is encouraging news for the country's economy, which is facing various challenges.

In particular, the general deficit fund also decreased and amounted to UAH 94.9 billion, compared to UAH 130.8 billion in June. This figure slightly exceeded the level of May, when the deficit amounted to UAH 91.6 billion. It is worth noting that the cash expenditures of the state budget decreased significantly to UAH 282.6 billion in July, compared to UAH 376.4 billion in June and UAH 364.7 billion in May.

There was also a reduction in expenditures on the general fund of the state budget. They amounted to UAH 231.9 billion in July, compared to UAH 264.7 billion and UAH 277.7 billion in the previous months.

According to the Ministry of Finance, revenues to the general fund of the state budget increased to UAH 136.7 billion in July from UAH 133.7 billion in June. However, this figure remains below the levels of May (UAH 184 billion) and April (UAH 162.8 billion).

The good news is the increase in international grant aid from the United States. In July 2023, it increased to UAH 47.6 billion compared to UAH 44.4 billion in June.

Summarizing the results for January-July, the cash expenditures of the state budget reached UAH 2.07 trillion, including UAH 1.64 trillion for the general fund. In July, the execution of the expenditure plan decreased to 93.4%, compared to 93.5% in June and 95% in May.

The state budget revenues for the seven months amounted to UAH 1.48 trillion, of which UAH 317.2 billion was international grant aid, and the general fund amounted to UAH 1.01 trillion.

Despite the improvement in the deficit situation in July, the general budget for January-July still maintains a deficit of UAH 583.9 billion, or 93.4% of the UAH 1.09 trillion deficit planned in the general fund budget.
