«Diia» has been selected as a candidate for the implementation of the European digital wallet project

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has announced that Diia has been selected as a candidate for the implementation of the European digital wallet project, which is being developed by the Potential consortium.

A digital wallet is a program that provides storage and use of identification data. The Potential consortium, which includes several European countries, is working to develop a European service that will allow users to open bank accounts online, have constant access to their driver's license on their phone, use an electronic signature, and receive electronic medical prescriptions.

"Diia has already presented its capabilities at an international meeting of the consortium in Paris, where the Ukrainian team demonstrated to colleagues from other European countries how to open a bank account, create an electronic signature, and use digital documents in a few minutes using Diia.

The introduction of the European digital wallet in Ukraine will make access to financial services and documents faster and more convenient for citizens. It will facilitate the opening of bank accounts, electronic signatures, and the use of digital documents, which will simplify daily financial and administrative operations.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that Diia has the potential to become a key player in the implementation of the European digital wallet project. This is a recognition of the high technological standards and achievements of the Ukrainian digital sector.

The cooperation between Diia and the Potential consortium is expected to have a positive impact on the development of digital identification and electronic services in Ukraine. This step will help to increase the level of comfort and security of citizens when using online services and will contribute to the further digital transformation of the country.
