From March 25 at 12:00, a record for trucks weighing 3.5 tons and over will be opened in the “eQueue” system, which will allow carriers to cross the state border faster and in a more organized manner. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
Separate queues at key points
The innovation concerns eight border crossing points with Poland, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The list includes the following crossings:
- Ukraine – Poland: Uhryniv – Dolgobychov;
- Ukraine – Hungary: Chop – Záhony;
- Ukraine – Romania: Porubne – Siret, Orlivka – Isakcea;
- Ukraine – Moldova: Rossoshany – Briceni, Starokozache – Tudora, Maloyaroslavets 1 – Ceadyr-Lunga, Reni – Giurgiulesti.
Separate lanes for empty trucks
In addition, within the framework of the “eQueue” system, special queues have been introduced for empty trucks weighing over 7.5 tons at the five largest checkpoints. The new procedure will apply at the following crossings:
- Ukraine – Slovakia: Uzhhorod – Vyšné Německé;
- Ukraine – Poland: Kraków – Korców, Shegyni – Medyka, Rava-Ruska – Hřebenne;
- Ukraine – Hungary: Chop – Záhony (from March 25 at 12:00).
New control format
From now on, all licensed freight carriers will be able to cross the border only after prior registration in the “eQueue” system. This will help optimize logistics flows, reduce waiting times and prevent chaotic queues.
Benefits for drivers and businesses
Changes in the border crossing procedure are aimed at increasing the efficiency of freight transportation, which is important for supporting exports and imports. The introduction of separate lanes will allow to unload checkpoints and accelerate the movement of goods.
Thus, the new rules in the “eQueue” system are another step towards improving the logistics infrastructure and reducing bureaucratic obstacles for freight carriers.
