Ukraine has received significant financial support from the World Bank in the form of a grant of UAH 207 million for the implementation of an important project to transform the healthcare system. These funds will be used to modernize the healthcare infrastructure and increase the efficiency of domestic medicine.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced the grant. According to him, the funds will be used to develop digital tools in medicine, improve healthcare management, and increase the overall capacity of the country's healthcare system. In particular, the implementation of modern technologies and process improvements is envisaged, which will allow for the provision of better quality healthcare services to citizens.
Shmyhal noted that this is not the only government initiative to restore the country. This year, the government continues to allocate significant funds to various sectors, including healthcare. Thus, according to the latest data, the government has allocated tens of billions of hryvnias for the restoration of infrastructure and economic stability of the country, in particular for housing programs for internally displaced persons.
This week, 2 billion hryvnias were allocated to a housing program for internally displaced persons. Thanks to this, more than 1,300 Ukrainian families will have the opportunity to purchase new homes. These measures are part of a large-scale government program aimed at helping those who suffered from the war and were forced to leave their homes.
Interestingly, earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine reported that the World Bank had also allocated $454 million to Ukraine as part of the THRIVE project. This project aims to help Ukraine reform its healthcare system, which is an important step in improving the quality of medical services in the country.
The funds received and international assistance will allow Ukraine to significantly improve the state of the healthcare system, as well as strengthen economic stability in difficult times.
