The Winter eSupport program has proven to be extremely popular among Ukrainians, with almost 14.4 million citizens applying for assistance. This result is a record for state social support programs, which confirms its importance and necessity for people in the current situation in the country.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, emphasizing that such a high level of participation in the program is evidence that it has become a real salvation for many families. "These are record figures for the state program, which have demonstrated its urgency and importance for our people," he noted.
Last chance to apply
Denys Shmyhal also emphasized that February 28 was the last day to submit applications for 1,000 hryvnias under the Winter eSupport program. However, the funds received can be spent throughout 2025, which gives Ukrainians the opportunity to use them at their own discretion for a long period.
Continuation of existing support programs
Despite the end of the winter period, a number of initiatives of the "Winter eSupport" program will continue to operate. In particular, teachers will receive monthly supplements, which is important for almost 500 thousand teachers. This will help maintain motivation and support educators in a difficult economic situation.
Free meals for primary school students, which are currently used by more than 1 million children, will also be maintained. The utility subsidy program will also remain in force, which will allow Ukrainians to reduce their housing and utility costs.
### Assistance for IDPs and expansion of programs
Programs for internally displaced persons (IDPs) continue to operate, including accepting applications for housing rental subsidies. This allows supporting those who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities.
In addition, the government is expanding the "Affordable Medicines" program, which provides citizens with the opportunity to receive medicines at preferential prices. The program is gaining more and more popularity, as evidenced by the high level of requests for it.
The new "eBook" program
The "eBook" program should be noted separately, which is also very popular. As of the end of February, more than 108 thousand applications for receiving e-books were submitted, which indicates a high demand for cultural and educational materials among Ukrainians.
New initiatives for spring
Prime Minister Shmyhal also announced the launch of new programs that the government plans to introduce in the spring. These initiatives will be aimed at supporting Ukrainian families during wartime, taking into account the growing needs of the population and the need to maintain economic stability in the country.
Thus, the "Winter eSupport" program not only helped millions of Ukrainians during the winter period, but also laid the foundation for further support measures in difficult times.
