Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies, distributors and pharmacy chains have reached an agreement on reducing the cost of medicines. The corresponding declaration of cooperation was signed by members of the public union "Association of Representatives of Pharmacy Institutions of Ukraine". This document has already been submitted to the Ministry of Health, which means the official start of the initiative.
According to the union's message, the main goal of the agreement is to make medicines more accessible to the population, especially against the backdrop of the economic challenges facing the country. The signing of the declaration is a response of the pharmaceutical market to state measures aimed at stabilizing the economy and supporting socially vulnerable groups.
The participants in the agreement emphasize that they are guided by the principles of social responsibility of business. They support the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, adopted on February 4, 2025, which provides for measures to strengthen the economic stability of the state and strengthen control in the financial sector.
The declaration became official after the signing of the relevant decree of the President of Ukraine No. 69/2025. This means that mechanisms may be introduced in the near future that will reduce prices for a wide range of medicines.
Experts believe that such an initiative will have a positive impact on the pharmaceutical market and will contribute to the creation of more transparent business conditions. It is also expected that state authorities will develop additional incentives for manufacturers and pharmacies that will support this program.
According to experts, the reduction in the cost of medicines will help not only ease the financial pressure on citizens, but also ensure the sustainability of the healthcare system in the conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction of the country.
