Overview of the passenger car market in Ukraine in 2024: leaders among private and corporate buyers

In 2024, the Ukrainian passenger car market showed stable development, in particular against the backdrop of the recovery of economic activity. In total, 69.6 thousand new passenger cars were registered, of which 44.3 thousand were purchased by private individuals, and the remaining 25.3 thousand by legal entities. This indicator demonstrates both the growth of interest in new cars among Ukrainians and activity in the corporate market.

According to Ukravtoprom, passenger car sales in the private sector increased by 8% compared to 2023. The largest increase in sales was observed among corporate clients, where the figures rose by 27%. Such dynamics indicate an increase in demand for both individual purchases and the purchase of cars for the needs of companies and organizations.

Among private buyers, crossovers and SUVs became the most popular models. The sales leader was the Toyota RAV-4, which acquired 3,167 new owners. In second place was the Mazda CX-5 with 1,611 units sold, and the Renault Duster with 1,538 sales closed the top three. The KIA Sportage (1,522 units) and the electric Volkswagen ID.4 (1,506 units) also became popular.

Other models dominated the corporate sector, in particular the Renault Duster, which became the most purchased car among legal entities — 5,288 units. The Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck took second place with 1,108 units sold, and the Skoda Octavia, which is popular among companies, was purchased in the amount of 1,028 units. The Toyota Hilux (1,019 units) and the Toyota RAV-4 (901 units) also found their popularity among corporate clients.

Interestingly, given the growth in sales among corporate buyers, as well as the increasing interest in models suitable for commercial purposes (such as pickup trucks and crossovers), we can expect a further shift in demand for these categories of cars in the future. This indicates the efforts of businesses to update their fleets and increase the mobility of their employees.

Thus, the passenger car market in Ukraine in 2024 showed stable demand for new models among both individuals and legal entities, with an advantage in favor of crossovers, pickup trucks and cars suitable for commercial purposes.
