  • New standards of pre-medical care for the military: a step to improve medical care

    Опубликовано: 2024-07-23 15:00:20

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine introduced important changes to the system of medical care for servicemen, approving four new standards for the provision of pre-medical care. These standards, developed taking into account both the Ukrainian experience and the practices of NATO countries, are aimed at improving medical care in the conditions of hostilities.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that the relevant order No. 436 was signed on June 29, 2024 and registered by the Ministry of Justice on July 19, 2024. This document establishes four levels of pre-medical care that will ensure a more effective response to the medical needs of the military during combat missions.

The new regulations define in detail the scope of pre-medical care provided by servicemen and employees of the security and defense forces. They include a list of required skills and interventions for each level of care, and include a list of approved medications to be used in the field.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Nataliya Kalmykova emphasized the importance of these changes: "This will save the lives and health of our defenders at the front and improve the quality of training in tactical medicine." According to her, the introduction of new standards will contribute to the improvement of medical training and the efficiency of assistance in extreme conditions.

Oksana Sukhorukova, head of the Department of Health Protection of the Ministry of Defense, noted that the new standards create a basis for the development of unified tactical medicine training programs. This will ensure a systematic approach to the training of the military and the unification of the processes of providing pre-medical care.

It is expected that the implementation of new standards will significantly increase the effectiveness of first aid on the battlefield. These changes will contribute to the preservation of life and health of the Ukrainian military, improving their preparation for actions in emergency situations.
