Demand for the BankID system in Ukraine increased by 38%

In the second quarter of 2024, a steady increase in demand for the use of the NBU BankID system for remote identification and verification of citizens was observed in Ukraine. This made it possible to gain access to a wide range of remote services.

This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine. It is noted that the total number of successful electronic identifications using the system between April and June this year was 22.3 million. This is 38% more than in the first quarter of 2024.

"This is the largest number of successful identifications in a quarter since the launch of the system," the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine said in a statement. As of today, the BankID system of the NBU includes 39 banks-identifiers and 106 subscribers-service providers. During the second quarter of 2024, six new subscribers were connected to the system.

Among the new connections is JSC "Piraeus Bank MKB", which received the status of subscriber-identifier. Also, five new service provider subscribers joined the system: four commercial ones that provide financial services and one non-commercial one that offers government services.

In particular, in May of this year, the mobile application "Rezerv+" was connected to the system, which allows conscripts to remotely update their credentials in accordance with the requirements of the law. Since the launch of this application and until the end of June, 5.5 million successful identifications were made using the BankID system of the NBU.

This growth in demand for the BankID system testifies to its efficiency and reliability, as well as to its ease of use for citizens. Thanks to this, Ukrainians can easily and safely access important services without leaving home, which is especially relevant in the conditions of modern challenges.
