  • Norway will provide more than $90 million to strengthen Ukrainian air defense

    Опубликовано: 2024-07-15 13:00:22

Norway will allocate 1 billion kroner (approximately $92.69 million) to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses. This was announced by Prime Minister Jonas Gar Stere during the NATO summit in Washington, according to Reuters.

This statement came a day after the announcement of the transfer of six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, which was an important step in strengthening the country's defense capabilities. Prime Minister Stere emphasized the need for additional means of air defense to protect the Ukrainian population from Russian attacks.

"Ukrainians need more air defense equipment to protect their population from Russian bombs and missiles," Stere said in his statement. He also stressed the importance of a strong defense against air attacks, especially in light of recent violent attacks.

On July 8, Russia carried out a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine, as a result of which dozens of people died. One of the affected facilities was the "Okhmatdit" children's hospital in Kyiv. These tragic events confirm the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

The funds that will be provided by Norway will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and protect its citizens from further Russian attacks. This decision also demonstrates the support of the international community in Ukraine's efforts to protect its independence and territorial integrity.

Norway continues to actively support Ukraine, providing it with the necessary military equipment and financial resources to strengthen its defense capabilities. This decision is another important step on the way to ensuring the security of the Ukrainian people in the conditions of ongoing aggression from Russia.
