The state reimburses employers for the costs of adapting workplaces for people with disabilities

Ukrainian employers who have created adapted workplaces for people with disabilities can now receive compensation for their expenses through the Diia electronic portal. According to the Ministry of Economy, more than 100 companies have already taken advantage of this opportunity, receiving a total of almost UAH 7 million in compensation.

The program, launched last August, aims to facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into the labor market by creating favorable working conditions for them.

The program allows employers to purchase special equipment and furniture to ensure comfortable working conditions for people with disabilities, with the costs covered by the state, according to Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

The amount of compensation depends on the employee's disability group and can reach up to UAH 106.5 thousand for people with group 1 disability and up to UAH 71 thousand for people with group 2 disability.

To receive compensation through the Diia portal, employers need to log in with an QES, submit an application along with the necessary documents and specify the details for receiving funds. The decision on reimbursement is made within 13 business days, and the funds are transferred within 5 business days.

The program is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Digital Transformation jointly with the State Employment Service. Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for providing employers with compensation for the actual costs of equipping workplaces for employees with disabilities.
