Ukraine spent 888 billion hryvnias on security and defense in six months

For the first half of 2024, Ukraine allocated 888.4 billion hryvnias for the security and defense sector. This is 57.5% of the total expenditures of the state budget for this period. The information was released by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

The funds were directed to support several key areas. The main part of the expenses included financial support for military personnel, members of the rank and file, as well as policemen. This made it possible to ensure the appropriate level of financial support for those who stand in defense of the country.

A significant part of the budget was spent on the purchase of military and special equipment, weapons, ammunition and other defense means. The list of expenses also included the purchase of personal protective equipment, such as helmets, body armor and other special equipment, as well as fuel and lubricants and food for the military.

Medical care has also become an important item of expenditure. This included the purchase of medicines, medical equipment and other necessary resources to support the health of servicemen. In addition, funding was directed to other expenses necessary for the effective operation of defense structures and formations.

In June, 155.6 billion hryvnias were allocated to the security and defense sector, underscoring the government's continued attention to the needs of the military and law enforcement. These expenses made it possible to ensure the stable operation of the relevant structures and support their combat capability.

The Ministry of Finance calls on citizens to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine by dutifully paying taxes and investing in military bonds. This contribution of each citizen helps ensure the financial stability of the country and increase its defense capability.
