More and more women are facing health risks from expired cosmetics, say experts at Debenhams. According to the survey, more than half of ladies are in no hurry to get rid of out-of-date products because they regret spending money. However, the lack of awareness can lead to eye infections and skin problems.
"It's a depressing realization that so many women are risking their health by using expired cosmetics. We recommend checking the expiration date on the packaging and not falling for the bait of great discounts.
Not only will expired products not give you the results you expect, they can also cause serious health problems," warns Lisa Brett from Debenhams.
According to the survey, 73% of women don't even realize they have expired cosmetics in their handbag. Many have used products that expired years ago, which can lead to eye infections and skin problems. Toxic doses of metals found in lipstick in a recent US study only emphasize the urgency of using outdated cosmetics.
