OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman is returning to the company's CEO position after his resignation on November 17. According to the company's Twitter account, the parties have reached an agreement in principle on his return, as well as the creation of a new initial board.
"We have reached an agreement in principle to bring Sam Altman back to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board," the statement said.
The new board of directors will initially include Brett Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.
"When I decided to join Microsoft, it was clear that this was the best path for me and the team. With a new board of directors and the support of Satya Nadella, I look forward to returning to OpenAI and building on our strong partnership with Microsoft," Altman wrote on Twitter.
This important change in the company's leadership reflects OpenAI's strategic direction and commitment to further development and cooperation with key partners.
