  • Fish vs. bacon: seafood promotes healthy conception, study claims

    Опубликовано: 2023-11-18 15:28:58

A fresh study sheds light on the link between diet and the conception process in men, raising the question of which foods may contribute to more successful reproduction. The study was conducted by specialists from Harvard University and warns men against excessive consumption of bacon and other processed meat products, suggesting instead to give preference to seafood, as the latter can positively affect the quantity and quality of sperm.

For the study, 156 men who had difficulty conceiving children were selected for the study. These men and their partners were subjected to a comprehensive examination, including an assessment of their lifestyle and diet.

The results of the study showed that men who regularly consumed processed meat products had a significantly lower number of normal sperm cells compared to those who opted for a healthy diet, eliminating bacon, sausages, hamburgers and ham from their diet.

The comparative analysis also revealed that men who included white fish such as cod in their diet showed higher sperm quality. This suggests a positive relationship between seafood consumption and sperm fertility.

Dr. Miriam Afeih from Harvard School of Public Health confirms that consumption of processed meat is associated with poor sperm quality and quantity, while seafood has a positive effect on sperm parameters.

So, the study provides food for thought about the impact of diet on men's reproductive health and emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet, including fish, in improving the chances of successful conception.
