Another important piece of demining equipment has been put into operation in Kharkiv Oblast, which will help speed up the clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance. Pyrotechnics working in the region have received a new machine for preparing the ground for demining, which is manufactured in Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, indicating that the equipment was purchased at the expense of the UN World Food Program. The machine was handed over to the deminers under the chairmanship of Matthew Hollingworth, head of the UN World Food Program in Ukraine, and Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
The Ministry of Economy continues to work actively to meet the needs for machinery and equipment from domestic manufacturers. This saves money on equipment for mine action units and, at the same time, allows us to purchase more equipment to speed up demining.
Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, emphasized that industrial development and job creation are among the main tasks at this stage. In particular, she noted that the capabilities of sappers in Kharkiv region will be strengthened, and two more vehicles are planned to be purchased by the end of the year.
This is the second domestically produced vehicle used for demining in Kharkiv region. In addition, a mine detector drone was recently introduced that uses advanced technology to detect mines and unexploded ordnance.
The Government of Ukraine has expressed its intention to introduce artificial intelligence into demining, which will allow the analysis of large amounts of data to effectively identify and eliminate dangerous objects.
