Matviy Bidnyi becomes Acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine

Starting November 9, 2023, Matviy Bidnyi will lead the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine as Acting Minister. He previously held the position of Deputy Minister in this department under the leadership of Vadym Gutzeit.

This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has temporarily entrusted Matviy Bidnyi with the duties of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine," he said.

Matviy Bidnyi already has experience in the Ukrainian sports system. In 2016, he held the position of Chief Specialist of the Division of Priority Non-Olympic Sports of the Department of Physical Culture and Non-Olympic Sports. From 2016 to 2020, he was the Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Non-Olympic Sports of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

In July 2020, Matvii Bidnyi was appointed deputy to the then Minister, Vadym Hutzayt, who was dismissed from the post of Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine on November 9, 2023.
