Sometimes we overeat because of stress, boredom or negative emotions, and this can seriously affect our well-being and figure. In this article we will present a set of breathing exercises that will help you tame your appetite and control your food intake.

    The problem of overeating is often psychological in nature, and psychotherapists have developed a special set of exercises to tame appetite, relax and lift your mood. These exercises can be useful when you are tempted to eat something extra because of emotional imbalance.

    It is best to perform these exercises before meals, after waking up or before going to bed. Follow this complex daily in the beginning, and then as needed when hunger or stress arises. The main thing is that no one should disturb you at that moment so that you can control your appetite.

    Muscle Tension

    Stand up straight and take a deep breath.
    Tense all the muscles in your body, including your feet, shins, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, back, shoulders and arms.
    Rise up on your toes and clench your hands into fists.
    Hold this position for a few seconds.
    As you exhale, relax. Make sure you are comfortable and you don't want to overexert yourself.
    Back arching

    Stand up straight and clench your hands into fists, placing them on your lower back.
    Take a deep breath and lean back, resting your hands on your lower back.
    Arch your back.
    As you exhale, return to the starting position and relax your muscles. Repeat several times.
    Lean to your feet

    Stand up straight.
    Take a deep breath and lean forward, grasping your ankles with your hands.
    Try to pull your body towards your knees, helping yourself with your hands.
    Tense all your muscles and hold in this position for a few seconds.
    Then, as you exhale, release your hands and relax.
    Squatting against the Wall

    Stand with your back against a wall.
    Lower yourself with your legs bent at a 90 degree angle.
    Hold in this position for 10 seconds.
    Return to the starting position and repeat 2-3 times.
    These breathing exercises will help you control your appetite and improve your health. Remember that not only physical but also psychological state plays a key role in appetite control.
