Airbnb is considering expanding its business model

Airbnb, the US-based accommodation booking service, is considering expanding its business model to include long-term housing rentals and car rentals.

Brian Chesky, CEO of Airbnb, announced that the company plans to carry out the "largest update in the company's history" next month.

One of the key areas of Airbnb's development this year and next year will be to increase the supply of long-term rental housing. In the second quarter of 2023, only 18% of all booked properties were rented for more than 30 days, but the company believes that demand for this type of rental will increase as many people are looking for housing for one to three months after the pandemic.

Airbnb's plans also include the creation of a new car rental business, as the company considers a car to be the second most important asset in a person's life after their own home.

In addition, Airbnb is considering providing customers with restaurant services as part of its diversification strategy.
