Ukraine's Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, is going to resign from his post and appoint himself as Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said, citing his own sources in parliament. The news was published on his Telegram channel.
According to Zheleznyak, the head of the State Property Fund, Rustem Umerov, may be appointed to the post of Defense Minister after Reznikov. The MP emphasized that Reznikov had been head of the Defense Ministry for a year and that this period had passed without any scandals, which was recognized as a record achievement of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
The MP did not disclose the details of who might head the State Property Fund after Umerov, but said that embassies had already been informed about this rotation. Official information on the new appointments may be announced in the first week of September.
This change in Ukraine's Defense Ministry comes at an important time as the country continues to fight armed aggression and support its defense efforts. The nomination of Oleksiy Reznikov as Ukraine's Ambassador to the UK reflects a strategic shift in the country's diplomatic corps.
