The Government of Ukraine is once again paying attention to the state of shelters in the country. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 4.

The Prime Minister reminded that after the first inspection, some managers were fired and some officials were reprimanded for the inadequate condition of the shelters. However, more than a month has passed, and now the government has decided to order a second inspection to determine whether the situation has been corrected.

"We will re-inspect all the shelters and facilities and find out if the necessary changes have been made to ensure the proper condition of the facilities. Where the condition of the shelters remains unchanged, appropriate personnel decisions will be made," the Prime Minister said.

Shelters are critical facilities designed to ensure safety and protect the public and the environment from possible negative consequences. In particular, they should protect against radiation and other harmful factors related to nuclear activities.

The re-inspection demonstrates the government's serious approach to ensuring safety at nuclear facilities. This is aimed at preventing possible accidents and minimizing risks to the public and the environment.

Ensuring the proper condition of the shelters is one of the government's priorities, and as a result of the re-inspection, appropriate decisions will be made on effective measures to improve the situation.

We remind that nuclear safety is an important issue for Ukraine, especially considering the country's ability to achieve energy independence and to secure nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants.
