Zelenskyi on disgusting abuses in military enlistment offices

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed outrage over allegations of systematic abuses that emerged during inspections of territorial centers of recruitment and social support for the military. In his video address published in the evening, the head of state stressed the inadmissibility of such actions.

Zelenskyy noted that such abuses must be studied and investigated by law enforcement agencies as part of criminal proceedings. At the same time, he made a proposal to improve the military recruitment system.

He expressed the view that military enlistment offices should be composed of people who have their own military experience and a sense of responsibility to the state. He stressed the need to involve veterans who, despite having lost the ability to fight at the front, remained connected to Ukraine and its values.

The President stressed that the military recruitment system should be based on understanding the value of Ukraine's defense and dignity. He expressed respect for the soldiers who lost their limbs but did not lose their dignity and patriotism.

In recent days, several corruption violations have been uncovered in Ukraine among military enlistment offices. The facts include abuses by officials who demanded personal benefits from the military.

The campaign to identify and stop abuses in military enlistment offices is ongoing. At the initiative of the President, following the scandal of the head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center, drastic measures were taken to change the leadership of some military enlistment offices and conduct thorough inspections. The National Corruption Prevention Agency has already identified cases of illicit enrichment and taken steps to stop these violations.

These measures underscore the importance of fighting corruption in all sectors, including the military, to ensure honest and responsible service in defense of the state.
