Ukrainians donated a record amount to the Armed Forces in June

Despite the fact that fundraising for defense in Ukraine has declined since the beginning of 2023, a record amount of donations was recorded in June. This happened when almost half of all donations since the beginning of the year were collected.

This information was provided by the open data platform Opendatabot, which analyzed the income of the three largest charitable foundations in Ukraine - United24, Come Back Alive, and the Serhiy Prytula Foundation.

In the first six months of 2023, these three foundations received UAH 8.35 billion. Compared to the same period in 2022, this is 22% less.

The vast majority of funds transferred by Ukrainians to United24 accounts are intended for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - UAH 4.93 billion, or 89% of all donations collected by this platform. The remaining 11% consisted of funds raised for medical aid and the reconstruction of Ukraine - UAH 0.45 billion and UAH 0.16 billion, respectively.

In June, United24 received UAH 2.4 billion for defense, which is an absolute record. This is almost half of all donations for defense in the first half of this year.

The previous maximum of UAH 2.24 billion was recorded by this platform in July 2022.

In June, fundraising for the Armed Forces increased by almost 4.8 times compared to January-May of this year, when United24 raised an average of UAH 0.5 billion per month for this purpose.

The situation is similar for two other charitable foundations. In June, Come Back Alive's fundraising increased by 17% to UAH 0.34 billion, compared to the "average monthly" figure of UAH 0.29 billion in January-May this year. As for the Shelter Foundation, the fundraising increased by 37% to UAH 0.22 billion in June, while in the previous five months, on average, UAH 0.16 billion was transferred to the accounts.
