Enemy plans terrorist attacks on its territory to fuel anti-Ukrainian hysteria
"The russian special services are planning a series of terrorist attacks with explosions of residential buildings, hospitals and schools in russian settlements. As well as missile and bomb attacks on the city of Belgorod or one of the cities of Crimea," Major-General Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, said in a commentary to the agency's press service.
He is convinced that the failure to implement the mobilization plan in russia forces putin's regime to launch dirty scenarios to emotionally stir up russian society and further consolidate it against Ukrainians, the Ukrainian armed forces and volunteer battalions in order to create an emotional picture of "atrocities by Ukrainian nationalists". It is quite possible that these terrorist attacks will be presented as revenge of the Ukrainians for Bucha and Kramatorsk and as justification for brutality against the Ukrainian civilian population," the head of the Central Intelligence Agency stressed.
"In recent days, the russian government has been increasingly active in stirring up the flywheel of anti-Ukrainian hysteria. Trenches are being actively dug in the Belgorod and Kursk oblasts, panic is brewing over the alleged offensive of Ukrainian volunteer battalions and subversive groups," Budanov added. In his view, it is highly symbolic that putin's reign began with the State Security Committee terrorist attacks on russian residential buildings, which became the basis for the destruction of Chechnya. And now it seems to be ending by the same methods.
