SkyUp Airlines expands fleet with new Boeing 737-800 aircraft

Ukrainian airline SkyUp, specializing in charter flights, continues to expand its fleet. The company recently leased a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which became part of its fleet. The aircraft, released in May 2010, received the registration number UR-SQN and will be used to operate flights on popular routes.

According to the airline's press release, the expansion of the fleet is an important stage in the development of SkyUp Airlines. The company's CEO, Dmitry Seroukhov, noted that this step will allow the airline to more effectively implement its business model and open up new opportunities for passengers. The expansion of the fleet will also allow the company to increase the number of flights and optimize the schedule.

Currently, the SkyUp fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The acquisition of another aircraft of this type is in line with the strategic plans of the company, which is focused on stable growth and improving passenger service.

The new aircraft will undergo maintenance and cabin renovation. As part of these works, modern ergonomic chairs from the Italian manufacturer Geven will be installed on board. The number of seats in the cabin will be 189, which will allow increasing the airline's flight capacity.

The company also plans to repaint the aircraft in the SkyUp brand livery. The process of repainting and updating the aircraft is planned to be completed by spring 2025, and by June 2025 the aircraft will be ready for regular flights.

From April 2025, the airline will launch a new regular flight program that will connect Chisinau with popular European destinations. Flights will be operated to countries such as France, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus and Greece. This expansion of the route network will allow SkyUp Airlines to attract new passengers and strengthen its position in the international air transportation market.
