Every fifth man and every sixth woman drink almost every day, and a significant proportion of respondents exceed the recommended alcohol consumption standards. Particularly alarming is the fact that many think about drinking on the way home, expecting relief from stress.
The main reasons that make people reach for alcohol are related to work, financial difficulties and family problems. Alcohol can indeed temporarily reduce anxiety and help to distract, but in the long term it makes the situation worse. The body gets used to this method of relaxation, and gradually an addiction is formed, in which it becomes difficult to cope with everyday difficulties without another dose of alcohol.
Experts warn that alcohol not only does not solve problems, but also creates new ones. It can disrupt sleep, slow down metabolism, contribute to weight gain and increase the risk of developing serious diseases such as cancer, liver disease and cardiovascular pathologies. Constant alcohol consumption also negatively affects the emotional state, worsening a person's ability to cope with stress without external stimulation.
Experts advise to reconsider the approach to rest and finding ways to relax. Instead of evening gatherings with a glass of wine or a strong drink, you can play sports, walk in the fresh air or find a hobby that will help you escape from everyday worries. An active lifestyle, communication with loved ones and healthy habits can bring much more benefit than alcohol.
It is important to remember that alcohol addiction develops unnoticed, and it can be very difficult to overcome later. If stress has become a constant companion in life, it is better to find alternative methods of dealing with it without resorting to alcohol. Health, well-being and emotional stability depend on the conscious choice that everyone can make in favor of safer ways to relax.
