New Ukrainian armored personnel carrier Oncilla-Shturm: protection and efficiency for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially put into operation a modern Ukrainian-made armored personnel carrier Oncilla-Shturm, designed to perform a wide range of combat missions. The vehicle combines advanced technical solutions and high reliability, making it an important addition to the technical arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The armored personnel carrier is designed for a crew of three and six paratroopers. It is equipped with a turbodiesel engine and an automatic transmission, which provides high maneuverability and speed. The fuel reserve allows it to cover more than 700 kilometers without refueling, which is a significant advantage when performing combat missions over long distances.

Due to the design and materials of the hull, the Oncilla-Shturm provides protection for the crew from small arms, shell fragments and mines. This is especially important for conducting combat operations in areas of increased danger. In addition, the armored personnel carrier effectively copes with the threat of explosive devices thanks to the reinforced mine protection system.

The standard equipment of the vehicle includes a number of modern systems that increase the convenience and safety of operation. Among them are an automatic tire inflation system, hydraulic power steering, air conditioning with heating function, automatic fire extinguishing system and filter ventilation system. The Oncilla-Shturm is also equipped with a winch for performing tactical tasks in difficult conditions.

The armament of the armored personnel carrier consists of a remotely controlled combat module equipped with a large-caliber machine gun. Additionally, the vehicle can be manufactured in various modifications depending on the tasks. This ensures its flexibility in use on the battlefield and adaptability to changing conditions.

As noted by Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov, the development and implementation of the Oncilla-Shturm is a vivid evidence of Ukraine's progress in creating military equipment capable of meeting modern battlefield needs. "This vehicle not only provides protection for personnel, but also allows you to perform combat missions as efficiently as possible even in the most difficult conditions," he emphasized.

The new armored personnel carrier is an important step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and increasing the mobility of its army, which is especially relevant in the current conditions of military challenges.
