Ukraine is actively increasing the production of missile weapons, and in the first months of 2024, 100 Neptune cruise missiles have already been manufactured. This indicates significant progress in the development of the domestic defense industry and increasing the country's defense capabilities. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported on the achievements and further plans for missile production.
According to the minister, the serial production of R-360 Neptune cruise missiles has not only been scaled up, but also improved, in particular to hit targets at longer distances. This increases the effectiveness of missiles in combating sea and land targets, which is an important element of Ukraine's strategic defense potential.
Umerov also noted that an important meeting was held with Ukrainian missile weapons manufacturers. The prospects for the development of the industry for 2025, key areas of cooperation and investment projects were discussed. An important part of the discussion was the involvement of the private sector in the creation of new technologies and the production of missiles, which demonstrates close cooperation between the state and business.
One of such innovations is the development of drone missiles, in particular the "Palyanytsya" missile. This is an example of successful collaboration between state structures and private companies. Also, according to the minister, Ukrainian manufacturers are working on improving missiles in close cooperation with international partners, which contributes to the exchange of experience and technologies.
The history of Ukrainian missile achievements includes not only modern developments. In particular, on April 13, 2022, the "Neptune" missile complex became a symbol of the Ukrainian defense force, destroying the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet - the cruiser "Moscow". This moment became an important stage in countering Russian aggression and proved the effectiveness of national missile technologies.
The impressive results of domestic missile production are not limited to the past. In March 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also carried out a successful strike on the ship "Konstantin Olshansky", which Russia had captured back in 2014. These strikes once again confirm Ukraine's ability to develop and use modern missile weapons at the world level.
Thus, Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities and takes a significant step towards achieving self-sufficiency in the production of modern missile weapons, which is an important element of its security and strategic potential.
