New support tool: IDPs will receive a subsidy for rent

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine announces the introduction of a new support mechanism for internally displaced persons - a subsidy for housing rent. This innovative solution, designed to ease the conditions of IDPs, is expected to be implemented in June.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy, emphasizing that this tool will be implemented as part of a pilot project scheduled for two years.

The amount of the subsidy will be determined depending on the cost of rent in a particular region or locality. Given the difference in rental prices in different places, the calculation system will be adapted to specific conditions.

The details of the subsidy will also depend on the number of people in the renting family and the household's income. The lower the income level, the more of the rental cost will be covered by the subsidy, according to the family's ability to pay its own expenses.

A draft decision on this form of assistance has already been submitted to the Government for approval. If the decision is approved, starting in June, internally displaced persons will be able to use the new support mechanism, which will be an important step in making their lives easier and adapting to the new conditions.
