Tourist prospects 2024: World destinations that will close their doors

Global tourism has undergone major changes during the pandemic, and although many borders have been reopened, not all tourist destinations are open for travel. CNN offers to review the list of attractions that will close their doors to tourists in 2024.

One of these locations is the Pompidou Center in Paris. After the Summer Olympics in 2023, the museum will be closed for a $282 million modernization until 2030.

In the United States, the Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland Park will also undergo changes. The attraction is being closed in California and Florida to be reopened under the new name Tiana's Bayou Adventure, inspired by The Princess and the Frog.

Noma, the Copenhagen restaurant recognized as the best in the world, announced its temporary closure in 2024. However, in 2025, it will resume its work in the format of an innovative test kitchen dedicated to food innovations.

After 35 years and nearly 14,000 performances, the legendary musical Phantom of the Opera will close its run in New York in 2023, setting a record for the longest run of any Broadway show.

The Pergamon Museum in Berlin will close by 2027 for a period of modernization, but travelers can visit Das Panorama for exhibits from the Pergamon Museum.

On the northeast coast of Taiwan, the popular Elephant Trunk Rock, which resembles an elephant's trunk, fell into the sea on December 15. This place, which attracted photographers, has been blocked for tourists since 2010 due to the threat of collapse due to erosion.
