Secrets of middle age: a study by British scientists

According to a study by British scientists, middle age no longer begins after the age of 40, as is commonly believed. The answers of 2,000 respondents surveyed showed that 53% of them believe that the phenomenon of middle age is a thing of the past. Among those over 50, 43% do not yet consider themselves middle-aged. Almost three quarters of respondents emphasized that there are no clear differences between different age groups.

Eight out of ten respondents agreed that it is now difficult to determine when middle age begins. Also, many believe that it depends on self-perception. They argue that if you start thinking of yourself as old, the aging process will be activated as well. As signs of approaching middle age, respondents name irritation with modern gadgets, lack of understanding of youth speech and the appearance of joint pains. A desire for coziness and a lack of interest in fashionable but uncomfortable clothes are also noted.

This study highlights the changing perceptions of middle age in today's society. The decline in activity after the age of 40 is a thing of the past and the role of a healthy lifestyle is increasing.
